About the Ranch

Motlow Creek Ranch and Cider Company (MCRC), Inc., was founded by local entrepreneur John Macomson in 2017, and opened to the public two years later. John has been raising cattle since 2004, and upon deciding to enter the cider arena, he realized he could combine the ranch with his newest venture. So, the Fat Ass Heifer Cidery was born as a component of Motlow Creek. 

Alongside Motlow Creek, John continues to work with Carolina Software as a Service, Inc., an information technology services provider which he founded in the late 1990s. The Ranch and Cider Company is a start-up, and John is grateful for the small, dedicated team of family and friends that are helping to make his vision a-go, including his wife, Denise.
